Four lecturers work full time at the department. Head of Department: Dr. Andras Karacsony, associate professor. Teaching staff:
Dr. Tamas Foldesi, professor; Dr. Ferenc Banyai, associate professor; Dr. Eva Karadi, associate professor; Dr. Lajos Cs. Kiss, senior assistant. Research Topics:
Human Rights, Modern Social Theories, Max Weber, Mannheim and the Sunday Circle, History of Philosophy: Renaissance in Northern Europe and Protestantism, Misticism, Political Philosophy, Law and Justice. The department maintains living and close cooperation in research and education with the Central Office of Statistics: joint research programs as well as joint courses are offered with the participation of adjunct lecturers from that Office.
By the special character of the discipline, taught by department, within the legal curriculum, special attention is paid in its research and teaching work to the balance between subjects on general philosophy and legal philosophy.
