Lisa Austin is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law, where she is affiliated with the Centre for Innovation Law and Policy. She holds a bachelor’s degree from McMaster, and law and a master’s degree from the University of Toronto, where she is currently completing her doctorate in philosophy, working in the area of philosophy of technology. Prior to resuming her doctoral work, she served as law clerk to Mr. Justice Frank Iacobucci of the Supreme Court of Canada. Professor Austin's research and teaching interests include privacy, property, intellectual property and the ethical and social justice issues raised by emerging technologies.
